Agent Spotlight: Meet Madlena Trifonova!

The West London mum who turned her obsession with holiday details into a £100K luxury family travel business.

Madlena Trifonova is one of those agents you notice straight away. She’s the founder of The Cactus Travel, based in West London, and she specialises in refined luxury family holidays. But what makes her different is how personal her approach is. She doesn’t do generic. She checks sun angles on balconies, walks the route from room to pool with tired toddler legs in mind, and knows which “family friendly” resorts are anything but.

She plans holidays the way she plans her own… obsessively, thoughtfully, and with real family life front and centre.

Her Niche, Her Way

Madlena doesn’t rely on star ratings or generic reviews. She either knows the property inside out herself, or she gets the inside track from people she trusts completely.

Her signature move? Checking which rooms get the best light at the right time of day. Morning sun for breakfast on the balcony, afternoon warmth for poolside cocktails. It sounds small, but for the families she works with, those details make the entire trip feel different.

Her favourite destination is Mauritius, and she has a sharp eye for luxury that works with children, not against them. A la carte dining that accommodates small humans. Layouts that don’t turn a simple walk into an expedition. Service that feels warm and human, not stiff and scripted.

From Hotel Groups to £100K

Mid-range horizontal lifestyle image of a hotel staff member in a black uniform with white trim carrying a wooden tray with a covered silver cloche and a glass of orange juice into a neatly made hotel bedroom, photographed from a side angle that highlights the tray and service presentation; the bed, bedside lamp, and neutral décor form a clean hospitality backdrop, conveying professional room service delivery and guest comfort within the hotel and travel industry, ideal for showcasing accommodation standards and luxury service experiences.

Madlena joined JLT in January 2024 and has already built The Cactus Travel to £100,000 in sales. Her next goal? Reaching £170,000 by April 2026.

Before she became an agent, Madlena was active in luxury hotel Facebook groups, sharing tips and answering questions from other parents. She quickly realised she knew more than many working professionals in the space. That confidence, backed by genuine knowledge, has been the foundation of everything she’s built within JLT.

One thing that stands out about Madlena is her honesty. She’s learned that the travel industry doesn’t always hand agents full control. Sometimes things go wrong and resolution takes time. She’s upfront with her clients about that, and it’s a big part of why they trust her and come back.

The Booking That Says It All

Madlena’s proudest booking tells you everything about how she works. A client came to her with her heart set on one specific hotel, already convinced it was out of budget. Most agents would have moved on to a different option. Madlena didn’t.

She went away and quietly started working the details. Tweaking dates, adjusting room types, finding offers. When she got that exact hotel within budget, the client’s reaction was pure shock and excitement. That single booking captures what Madlena does best: she listens properly, cares enough to try, and turns “probably not” into “how is this even possible?”

In Her Own Words

Close-up horizontal lifestyle shot of a person typing on a slim silver laptop placed on a wooden desk, photographed from a side angle that focuses on their hands on the keyboard while the screen remains blank and softly lit; a black coffee cup with frothy milk, a closed notebook, and a blue pencil sit nearby, creating a tidy workspace that suggests content creation, remote work, blogging, or business administration in a home or office setting, suitable for illustrating productivity, digital entrepreneurship, or online booking and communication tasks.

When asked about joining JLT, Madlena’s advice is simple and confident: “Jump in with both feet. Joining JLT has been the best decision of my life.”

And her top tip for fellow agents? Always check which rooms get the best natural light at the right time of day. It’s the kind of small, thoughtful detail that completely changes a client’s experience, and it’s proof that the best agents notice what others miss.

We’re Cheering You On, Madlena

From luxury hotel groups to £100K in sales, Madlena’s journey within JLT is proof of what happens when passion meets attention to detail and the right support system. She’s got the drive, the detail, and the heart. We can’t wait to see her hit that £170K target.
